When i was small i like coloring.I love art. i am often entering coloring competition with my sister, coloring cartoons , tree, rivers and such. But my sister always win because she put many color into it while i like to put it into detail and somehow failed to complete the whole picture.
Then around time at 1995 my mother buy a new desktop.The operating system is windows 95. My interest quickly caught on windows ms paint. It was an awesome tool for me that time. The first image i draw is roses and my mother like what i did. That is my first step of digital image processing.
But digital image processing is something more complex because now we need to produce an image using mathematical algorithm. It interesting on how we can arrange the pixel of our computer screen to something that we can call art. With designated algorithm like monochrome, edge detection, bloom and so on we can create cool and interesting effect.I would like to blog about this later.
What i want to discuss here is that, DIP has become an important component in many industry. It saves our time, cost ,cases and improve our lifestyle.An example is in medical area. After a MRI or X ray scan we could process the image to analyze more out of our normal detection. The image could be filtered using edge detection and we might see our detailed organ. We can also integrate our device with face detection software as we capture our face image using web camera and then our DIP software could process the image to calculate similar pixel to be compared with stored initial image. This concept also feasible with pattern or Captcha recognition.There is also a lot of DIP procedure putted into robotic technology. With DIP database, a human like robot is possible in near future. But more interesting features has been integrated into entertainment area such as movies, computer games, and graphic design.
